Carson J. Callaway and his wife Virginia Hand Callaway created the beautiful man-made landscape known as Callaway Gardens, located in Pine Mountain, Georgia. The gardens are now owned and operated by the Ida Carson Callaway Foundation. The gardens are open to the public and provide visitors with opportunities for recreational and educational experiences. People can schedule field trips, weddings, and other special events in this beautiful place.
I have had the opportunity to visit Callaway Gardens several times. We made several school field trips there. One of my dearest friends lived near the gardens for awhile so we enjoyed a visit there together. Then, in October 2011, my family visited beautiful Callaway Gardens again. If you love flowers and nature, consider visiting Callaway on your next trip to Central Georgia where visitors can enjoy nature trails, wildlife shows, and a butterfly house, just to name a few things.
I have enjoyed several of the attractions there, including the gorgeous nature trails, but one of my favorite places there is the butterfly house. Although most of the photos below are from other areas of the gardens, I absolutely love the butterfly house. If you get a chance to visit, don’t miss the butterfly house.
I’m not a professional photographer, but I do love taking pictures. I hope you enjoy these photographs from our Fall trip.
