My first two children graduated from public school, but for years my youngest daughter begged to be homeschooled. As an educator, I knew this would be a huge responsibility and I didn’t know if I would be able to give my daughter the attention she needed while attending to my full time home daycare/preschool. I knew this would be especially challenging for me since my background is in early learning, not high school. However, last year, she convinced me to take that leap of faith. It hasn’t been easy. There are so many resources out there for elementary homeschool grade levels, but I had a difficult time finding the resources I needed for homeschooling a high school student. I needed a complete high school homeschool guide, but couldn’t find one, at least not one I could afford. I needed free or cheap! A list of free homeschool resources would have helped a lot!
We managed to finish last year and although it was especially challenging for me, I loved having my daughter here with me every day so we are doing it again this year. I could still make use of a complete homeschool guide, but we make do. Perhaps I’ll put one together so other high school moms like me won’t have to work so hard to find the materials they need.
For now, I would like to start small by sharing a few free and/or affordable resources with you. Here are a few free downloads from various Teachers Pay Teachers stores.
